Special note: ATI/SLI users may have performance issues due to multi-gpu configuration. This is a list curated by THPS players of bugs and features we believe should either be addressed or could add substantial value to THPS1+2. Specs are pretty high but I also have overkill performance on the game so it is certainly possible to run without lag at medium/high/amazing mixed or full settings on lower spec computers. I am running 60 FPS (with v-sync meaning I can certainly run higher) at every setting maxed (amazing, etc. This game can run flawlessly on a decent setup. Due to the way it works it can cut your FPS nearly in half when under your monitor's refresh rate (which for almost everyone is 60Hz/FPS). Last, disable V-Sync/Vertical Sync if you are lagging or getting under 60 FPS. Other options include lighting and population density (if you are on a older CPU since this could be the bottleneck for some, if other suggestions don't resolve it try this despite what you think of your CPU). This means you will be rendering less in the distance, the stuff that does not really matter to you, which is probably your biggest FPS gain in the city. Best option will likely be to lower your draw distance.
